Finishing
Stitching your canvas is only half the fun. The other half is watching it become something you'll actually use and love for years. That's where our finishing services come in. We work with a small group of trusted, skilled finishers who turn your finished canvas into pillows, ornaments, purses, belts, and more.
How It Works
Bring your finished project into the shop, or mail it to us. Either way works. From there, we'll match you with the right finisher for your piece and walk you through your fabric, leather, or hardware options.
Every project is a little different, so pricing is custom. Give us a call or stop by the shop and we're happy to talk through the details with you.
Turnaround times vary by finisher and depend on demand, so while we'll always give you our best estimate, we can't guarantee an exact date. Here's a general idea of what to expect:
- Soft finishing (pillows, soft clutches, stockings, bean bags): with Peter, choose from his range of velvets or bring your own fabric. Typically 4–5 months.
- Small pieces (ornaments, door hangers, eyeglass cases, bookmarks, and more): with Amy, who offers a variety of fabrics or can work with fabric you provide. Typically 3 months.
- Belts and key fobs: choose your leather and hardware color. We work with two finishers for these, and turnaround runs 3–6 months depending on who's finishing your piece.
- Stand-ups and 3D pieces: these intricate finishes are currently running up to 1 year.
- Leather purses, wallets, and similar pieces: our most detailed finishing work, typically 12–18 months.
- Acrylic finishing: we can custom finish acrylic trays, coasters, boxes and more.
We know waiting is the hardest part of finishing, but good things are worth the stitch. If you have questions about your specific project, just ask us in the shop.
